Antonín Dvořák’s birthplace completed with visitor centre in Nelahozeves

The birthplace of Antonín Dvořák in Nelahozeves has been fully completed after years of restoration. The interactive museum has been open since last year in trial mode, but now includes a visitor centre, finished exhibitions, and new displays.

The site features 11 themed rooms with audiovisual technology recreating life in a 19th-century Bohemian village. Visitors can explore Dvořák’s childhood through narrated experiences voiced by more than 20 Czech actors, alongside personal items such as his pipe and period instruments loaned by the Czech Museum of Music.

Education is an important part of the venue’s mission, with initiatives for schools, cooperation with music academies, and an ongoing program of concerts.
