Antiviral drugs for Covid to be widely available in pharmacies

Paxlovid and Lagevrio, antiviral drugs which are used to treat Covid, will be available in all Czech pharmacies starting in January, the Ministry of Health announced on its web page. The drugs will be covered by health insurance, and will be available on electronic prescription. So far they have been in short supply and only in hospital pharmacies.Paxlovide and Lagevrio are antiviral drugs developed against Covid-19 in tablet form, mainly for home treatment. According to the ministry, their administration is intended to prevent the development of a severe form of the disease and the need for hospitalization.
