Anti-Covid restrictions limit New Year’s Eve gatherings
For a second time in a row, Czechs will have to limit New Year’s Eve parties and gatherings due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
At most 50 people can celebrate together indoors, according to government restrictions. No more than four people can sit together in pubs and restaurants, unless they are family members.
In addition, only people fully vaccinated or who have recovered from a Covid-19 infection in the past six months will be allowed into bars and clubs.
In Prague, like last year, there will be no official fireworks on New Year’s Day. Other big cities in the Czech Republic have also cancelled official fireworks displays.
