Another CZK 1bn allocated under Covid Kultura to help arts, cultural sector

An additional billion crowns have been allocated to help aid institutions and professionals in the arts and cultural sector struggling due to coronavirus pandemic.

On Thursday, the government approved a proposal by Minister Lubomír Zaorálek for when the existing Covid Kultura aid programme runs out. He said although that programme issued funds in response to some 2,600 requests.

The extended programme will help entrepreneurs and self-employed people in the sector. As of Wednesday, a total of 5,477 applications had been submitted, 4,618 of them from artists and creative people and 475 from entrepreneurs in the cultural sector.
