ANO support far ahead of any other lower house party, poll shows
The ANO party led by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš maintained its lead in the polls in August, a newly released poll by the Median agency shows. If elections into the Chamber of Deputies were held now, ANO would receive 29.5 percent of the vote, the same amount that polling results showed in March at the beginning of the pandemic. Thy would be followed by the opposition Pirate Party with 12.5 percent and the Civic Democrats who would receive 11 percent of the vote, 2 percent less than in March.
The coalition Social Democrats came in fourth place with 9.5 percent, followed by the Freedom and Direct Democracy party with 7.5 percent, the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia with 7 percent, TOP 09 with 6.5 percent. The Christian Democrats and Mayors and Independents polled just around the five percent threshold to get into parliament.
Some 63 percent of respondents said they would vote in the elections.
