ANO party nominates two for deputy speaker positions in Chamber of Deputies

The current speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Radek Vondráček, and the former governor of the Karlovy Vary Region, Jana Mračková Vildumetzová, have both been nominated by their own ANO party for the position of future deputy speakers of the lower-house of Parliament, the Czech News Agency reported on Wednesday.

The vote on who will occupy the position of speaker and deputy-speaker is set to take place during the inaugural meeting of the post-election Chamber of Deputies, which starts on Monday.

As a result of the October elections, the ANO party will be in opposition and is expected to receive two deputy speaker seats. Markéta Pekarová Adamová, the chairman of the TOP 09 party, is expected to become speaker.
