Anifilm festival kicks off in Liberec

The 22nd edition of the international animated film festival Anifilm is getting underway in Liberec on Tuesday, with around 500 animated films on offer over the six days of the festival. Ten feature-length and 36 short animated films are competing in the main international categories this year, the results of which will be announced on Saturday. The film programme this year is dedicated to Japan, with the organisers promising iconic feature-length works such as Hayao Miyazaki's Castle in the Clouds, as well as new and old lesser-known gems.
