Ancient burial site discovered by archeologists near Dašice

In an area south of the town of Dašice in Eastern Bohemia, archeologists have found a burial site which was used continuously for over 3,600 years, the Eastern Bohemian Museum announced in a press release on Wednesday.

Archeologists first discovered a burial mound dating back to the seventh or eight century, but have since also found several cremation graves which they ascribe to the Lusatian Culture dated back to the later Bronze Age.

According to the Director of the Eastern Bohemian Museum Tomáš Libánek, the team is now preparing to undertake a geophysical survey of the whole area in order to measure the full size of the burial site.
