Analysis of patient mix-up at Prague hospital reveals employee misconduct
An analysis of the tragic mix-up of two female patients at Prague’s Bulovka Hospital revealed misconduct by two employees. One remains off duty, while the other will remain at the hospital and work under supervision, the head of the hospital, Jan Kvaček, said on Thursday.
The incident, which happened last week, led doctors to perform an abortion on the wrong woman, who was four months pregnant and was supposed to undergo a routine check-up. An anonymous source told the media that both women were of Asian descent.
Mr. Kvaček apologized to the woman on behalf of the hospital and is negotiating with her about compensation.
