America to donate USD 8.2 million to Czech-based agencies aiding Ukrainians

The United States is to donate USD 8.2 million to support refugees from Ukraine and organisations that help them in Czechia, the country’s embassy in Prague said on Tuesday.

The amount is part of over USD 107 million that the US is giving to European countries to provide assistance to people who have fled Ukraine since it was attacked by Russia.

The largest part of the money in Czechia will go to UNICEF, the United Nations children’s fund, which will receive USD 3.3 million. Significant amounts will go to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
