Agricultural trade fair “Země živitelka” opens in České Budějovice

The 51st edition of Země živitelka, the Czech Republic’s largest agricultural trade fair, opened on Thursday in České Budějovice. This year’s central theme revolves around new technologies such as robotics, automation, digitalization, and artificial intelligence in farming.

Speaking at the opening of the trade fair EU Agriculture Commissioner Christophe Hansen said Czechia plays a key role in ensuring Europe’s food security and maintaining a vital countryside. He praised the diversity and resilience of Czech farming and stressed the need to strengthen and treat the sector as strategic.

The event, which runs until 26 August, features around 600 exhibitors from both the Czech Republic and abroad.
