Agniezska Holland’s film coproduced with Czechia awarded in Venice

Polish director Agnieszka Holland won a special jury award at the Venice Film Festival for her latest feature film Green Border, made in coproduction with Czechia. The drama dealing with the plight of refugees caught on the border between Belarus and Poland, also received several non-statutory awards.

Czech film Photophobia by Ivan Ostrochovský and Pavol Pekarčík shot last year in war-torn Ukraine, presented in the festival’s independent sidebar Giornate degli Autori, was awarded the Europa Cinemas Label. Both films were also supported by the Czech Film Fund.
