Agnes canonization anniversary
This week yet another 1989 anniversary was remembered: the Catholic church commemorated the 12th anniversary of the canonization of St. Agnes of Bohemia on November 12, 1989. More from Alena Skodova:
Agnes's canonization had come just several days before the Velvet Revolution started in Czechoslovakia and as we hear from Larry Cada, many people are convinced that an old prophecy had come true: Mr. Cada told me that several attempts had been made in the past seven centuries to convince the Pope to proclaim Agnes of Bohemia a Saint, but there was no positive response from the Vatican until John Paul II became the pope:
