Aggressive police officer suspended

The České Budějovice city police have suspended an officer who punched a woman on Senovážné náměstí on Wednesday evening. He then knocked to the ground, kicked and handcuffed a bystander who stood up for the woman. The daily Mlada fronta Dnes drew attention to the case after obtaining a video of the incident made by an eye witness. The video shows that neither the woman nor the man attacked the officer, they merely argued with him. A spokesperson for the city police said the case was being investigated and the aggressive officer would almost certainly be sacked.
