72,000 pets in Czechia obtained passports in 2024
In 2024, Czech veterinarians issued passports for around 72,000 dogs, cats, and ferrets, maintaining a steady level compared to 2023. However, this is 4,000 fewer than in 2019, before the pandemic, according to the Chamber of Veterinarians. Dogs made up the majority, with around 64,000 passports issued last year.
As more pets travel, there is also an increasing demand for products that help calm animals, such as pet strollers. Pets traveling to EU countries must have a passport, while rules for other animals depend on the destination country. It's also important to check travel regulations when going outside the EU.
