188 new Covid cases registered, 20 in Prague

Some 188 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the Czech Republic on Monday, which was around a third lower than same day last week. In Prague 20 fresh cases were registered.

Zero Covid deaths were recorded for Monday, the first time that had happened since the start of September; however, that figure may be revised.

Just over 110,000 doses of Covid vaccines were administered on Monday, around 4,000 fewer than on the first day of the previous week.

There was further easing of coronavirus restrictions on Tuesday, with the requirement to wear facemasks in school classrooms being dropped in the three regions where it was still in place.
