15,000 vaccinated against hepatitis A in one week
In one week, 15,000 people were vaccinated against hepatitis A, and since January, more than 127,000 doses have been administered. Last year, that was roughly half the number for the entire year. This information comes from data provided to ČTK by the Ministry of Health (MZd). Due to the high demand, there is currently a shortage of vaccines. The State Institute for Drug Control (SÚKL) stated on its website that emergency shipments are on their way to the Czech Republic. So far this year, more than 1,800 people have been infected with hepatitis A, the highest number since 1996. Last year, the figure was about one-third of that.
