150-km an hour tornado recorded in South Moravia

A tornado reaching around 150 kilometres an hour was recorded in the Břeclav area in South Moravia on Monday evening, a representative of the Brno branch of the Czech Hydro-Meteorological Institute told the Czech News Agency.

The mayor of the village of Lanžhot said around 30 houses had been damaged by the strong winds. The local fire service were called out around 40 times to deal with the effects.
