Znojmo church gets three new bells after 80 years

Brno Bishop Pavel Konzbul blessed three new bells on Saturday that will be placed in the tower of the Nálezení svatého Kříže Church (The Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross) in Znojmo in the coming weeks. The church has been waiting 80 years for new bells after the original ones were requisitioned and melted down for munitions during World War II, just like many other churches across the Czech lands.

The three new bells are Resurrection (543 kg), Mary (372 kg) and Josef (257 kg). The first ringing of the bells is planned for the end of November.
