Zeman to attend lower house budget debate Friday

President Miloš Zeman is planning to attend a session of the Chamber of Deputies on Friday, when the government’s proposed state budget for this year will be debated. The speaker of the house, Markéta Pekarová Adamová, said Mr. Zeman’s office had requested that he be allowed to speak.

The head of state has been present at several lower house budget debates in recent years and has repeatedly called for the discontinuation of tax exemptions.
