Zdeněk Nekula appointed agriculture minister

President Milos Zeman appointed Zdeněk Nekula agriculture minister at Lany Chateau on Monday.   Nekula, who underwent Covid in the past fortnight, is the last of the 18-member cabinet to be appointed to office. He said his main priority would be to introduce modern technologies into the sphere of agriculture and reduce the carbon footprint of food.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala said after his meeting with the president on Sunday that he planned to ask the lower house for a vote of confidence on January 12, when he would present the assembly with his government’s policy program.
