Wastewater monitoring suggests up to 5,000 Prague inhabitants may have Covid

According to data from long-term wastewater monitoring, 3,000 to 5,000 Prague inhabitants were infected with Covid-19 in the second half of September, the University of Chemical Technology in Prague stated in a press release. In that period, the Ministry of Health registered 1,173 Covid cases in the Czech capital. University experts have stressed the need to increase the intensity of testing.

Covid numbers have seen a slow but steady rise in recent days. According to the Institute of Health Information and Statistics there could be around 2,000 new cases daily by the end of October.
