Unvaccinated Czech tennis player leaves Melbourne ahead of Australian Open

Czech tennis player Renata Voráčová, who lost her visa ahead of the Australian open, has left the country after taking a flight from Melbourne, AFP reported on Saturday.

The doubles player had hoped to play in the grand slam but was denied participation due to not being vaccinated and only having a certificate of proof that she had successfully recovered from Covid-19.

Unlike Novak Djokovic, who is facing similar problems, Ms Voráčová chose not to pursue the issue through court.
