Traditional meeting of Czech president and foreign diplomats cancelled

The Office of the President has cancelled the traditional meeting of the president with foreign diplomats working in the Czech Republic due to Miloš Zeman’s poor state of health, the castle's protocol officer Vladimír Kruliš told Czech Radio on Thursday.

The event is traditionally held at Prague Castle on the eve of October 28, Czechoslovak Independence Day, when state honours are awarded by the head of state. Last year, the event was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
