Top judge: Spring bar on people leaving state was unconstitutional

The head of the Czech Constitutional Court, Pavel Rychetský, says preventing people from leaving the country in the spring, as part of measures to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, was completely unconstitutional.

Justice Rychetský told Czech Television that the government could prevent people returning to or entering the country in a crisis situation. However, it is explicitly stated in the constitution that it cannot stop anyone leaving the Czech Republic, he said.
