Tennis: Krejčíková reaches semifinals in Linz, faces top-seed Sabalenka

Barbora Krejčíková has made the semifinals of the Upper Austria Ladies Linz tournament, defeating Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus on Friday 6-3, 6-1. Krejčíková’s had not made a WTA semifinal in three years.

The 24-year-old Czech next faces top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka, another Belarusian, on Saturday. The winner of that match will face either second-seeded Elise Mertens of Belgium or Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia in the final on Sunday.

Meanwhile, in doubles, Czechs Lucie Hradecká and Kateřina Siniaková have already qualified for the final. Siniaková was on the winning doubles team in Linz last year. A victory in the final would be her first paired with Hradecká.
