Swimmer Matěj Zábojník breaks Czech breaststroke record at European Championships

Czech swimmer Matěj Zábojník advanced into the semi-finals of the European Short Course Swimming Championships on Wednesday, after breaking the Czech record in the 100m breaststroke category with a time of 57.73 seconds. Zábojník is currently in 13th place overall.

The 21-year-old already broke the Czech 200m record last month. He is set to compete in that category at the European Championships later this week.

Zábojník’s fellow Czech breaststroke swimmer Vojtěch Netrh did not manage to qualify in the heats. Neither did Simona Kubová in the 200m backstroke.
