Steep rise in Covid cases continues
The Czech Republic registered 2,751 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, which is 1,600 more than on the same day a week ago. It is the highest daily increase since the end of March, when the Czech Republic was experiencing the third wave of the pandemic.
Over 840 people are currently hospitalized with Covid, of which 119 are in intensive care. Sixty-one people have died of Covid or related complications in the past seven days.
There are now on average 177 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the course of a week, although in some regions it is 300 cases per 100,000.
