SPOLU, Pirates and Mayors coalitions call on president to give them green light to form government

Representatives of the winning SPOLU coalition (Civic Democrats, Christian Democrats, TOP 09) and the Pirates and Mayors met on Saturday evening after the announcement of the official result of the election into the Chamber of Deputies in which voters gave the five parties a total of 108 seats. They signed a memorandum about their willingness to form a government and called on president Zeman to name SPOLU leader Petr Fiala prime minister and put the plan into action.

The Czech president will first meet with current prime minister and the leader of the ANO party Andrej Babiš, whose ANO party came in second but remains the party with the largest number of seats in the lower-house.
