Special veterinary measures to take effect against ASF and bird flu

Special veterinary measures will go into effect on Monday to prevent the possible spread of bird flu and African swine fever to the country, Agriculture Minister Miroslav Toman said on Thursday.

The measures include intensive hunting of wild boar, a ban on the import of trophies and litter, or measures to prevent the contact of wild birds with poultry.

Outbreaks of the highly contagious diseases have appeared in neighbouring Poland and Germany.
