September fourth-driest since 1961 with 40pct less rainfall than usual

This September was the fourth driest on Czech territory since 1961. Only 23 millimetres of rainfall was recorded, about 40 percent the average amount over the past 30 years.

September was also the 11th warmest in the past 61 years. It was, however, preceded by the seventh-rainiest summer, according to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.
