September 2021 was among top 20 hottest ever since 1775
This year saw the 16th hottest September ever measured since data started being gathered in 1775, according to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. The average temperature lay at 17.6 degrees Celsius last month, based on measurements taken in the Czech Republic‘s oldest meteorological station in the Klementinum in Prague.
The hottest September ever was recorded in 1798, when the average temperature reached 19.4 degrees.
According to meteorological data, the summer of 2021 was among the top 10 hottest summers since 1775. This was mainly thanks to the high temperatures recorded in June. The month of August was below average temperatures, according to meteorologists.
