Sculpture of carp unveiled in Pohořelice
Fried carp is a traditional Czech Christmas dish. The town of Pohořelice in Moravia –which is a well-known fish-farming locality – unveiled a sculpture to the country’s most popular breed at the weekend. Its author is the artistic blacksmith Pavel Valášek. The Pohořelice bred carp received a geographical trademark from the European Union in 2007 - a protected designation of origin.
