Saturday sees week-on-week rise in cases, but hospitalizations lowest since November

Saturday saw 3,955 new cases of Covid-19 detected in labs across the Czech Republic, an increase of 2,900 cases when compared to the same day last week, according to data published by the Ministry of Health. However the number of tests carried out was also three times higher than that carried out on January 1.

Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus patients requiring hospitalization continues to fall. It currently lies at 2,300, which is the lowest number registered since the beginning of November.

The most affected region remains Prague, where, over the past seven days, there was an average of 733 infections per 100,000 people. All regions except Vysočina have registered a week-on-week rise in their incidence numbers.
