President’s health is stabilised and shows signs of improving, says chief doctor

The clinical condition of Czech President Miloš Zeman is satisfactory, stabilised and shows long-term signs of improvement, the head of the council of doctors tasked with caring for the president, Tomáš Zima, told the Czech News Agency on Friday.

The statement was given after the doctors’ council met to discuss the president’s health on Friday. Dr Zima said that the current medical treatment is adequate and that, with additional rehabilitation, the condition of the Czech head of state could improve further.

President Zeman was released from hospital two weeks ago after being treated for an unspecified chronic illness. He is currently being cared for at his official Lány country residency.
