Plans announced for November 17 events in Prague

Plans have been announced for celebrations in Prague on November 17, the 32nd anniversary of the start of the Velvet Revolution. Concerts, discussions, workshops and a carnival procession will be seen on the streets of the capital, while part of the programme will be relayed online.

Mayor Zdeněk Hřib on Tuesday appealed to those planning to celebrate freedom in person to observe all measures aimed at curbing the spread of Covid-19.

The organiser of events on Národní St. said they were being designed in such a way as to discourage people clustering in particular spots.
