Hrůša to become music director of London’s Royal Opera House in 2025

The Czech conductor Jakub Hrůša is set to become music director of the Royal Opera House in London in 2025. Mr. Hrůša will take over from Antonio Pappano at the famous venue. In the 2024–2025 season, the two conductors will share house responsibilities and both will appear as special guest conductors.

Mr. Hrůša, who is 41, will be the second Czech to helm the UK ensemble on a permanent basis, after Rafael Kubelík in the 1950s.
