No new outbreaks of fire in Bohemian Switzerland

Despite the wind, there were no new fire outbreaks in the Bohemian Switzerland national park on Saturday and several existing ones were successfully extinguished, a spokesperson for the fire brigade told the Czech News Agency. The firefighters were also able to work more efficiently because the weather got significantly cooler on Saturday as compared to Friday. The area in which firefighters are now tackling the fire stands at less than 390 hectares, down from some 1060 hectares originally affected.

Firefighters have been battling the fire since July 24. There are still around 1,000 firefighters deployed in the region.
