Concert for Europe in Litomyšl interrupted by climate protestors

Two activists interrupted Friday’s Concert for Europe, which was held for Czech government officials and European Commission representatives in the Bohemian town of Litomyšl on the occasion of the Czech Republic assuming the presidency of the Council of the European Union. The two men got on top of the stage while the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra was performing and chained themselves to the railing, holding banners with climate protection slogans, the Czech News Agency reports.

After being detained by police officers, the two individuals exercised their right to remain silent.  The Police has not yet classified the incident and will first interrogate witnesses, spokeswoman Markéta Janovská told the Czech News Agency.
