Finance minister says 2022 budget deficit will be higher than originally planned

The minister of finance, Zbyněk Stanjura, says the government aims to keep this year’s budget deficit below the figure of CZK 330 billion. A 2022 budget with a deficit of CZK 280 billion is currently in place but the minister said on Czech Television on Sunday that he would submit a new one to the government next month.

Mr. Stanjura said the cabinet will seek to ensure the budget deficit next year will be below CZK 280 billion.
