Up to 50,000 jobs available in agriculture, says minister

The Czech minister of agriculture, Zdeněk Nekula, says that 40,000 to 50,000 people could be employed in agricultural production, the food industry and forestry. Mr. Nekula made the comment in connection with the arrival of tens of thousands of Ukrainian refugees in the country. Many of the refugees are female and the minister said that there were jobs for women in a number of areas.

Mr. Nekula also said that around one in 10 companies in agriculture had reported the departure of Ukrainian men to serve their country.
