Czech film director Miloš Forman would have turned 90 on Friday
Miloš Forman, the most successful Czech film director of all time, would have turned 90 on Friday. Forman was the leading representative of the Czechoslovak New Wave making classics such as Loves of a Blonde, Black Peter and The Fireman’s Ball, before starting on a hugely successful career in Hollywood.
Forman won two Oscars for Best Director, for the classics One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest in 1976 and Amadeus in 1985. His other best-known films include The People vs. Larry Flint, Man on the Moon and his last movie Goya’s Ghosts. Forman died in 2018 at the age of 86.
