Steep rise in Covid cases continues
The Czech Republic registered 787 new cases of Covid 19 on Sunday, which is almost double the number registered on the same day a week ago, and the highest incidence on a Sunday since the end of April. The number of people hospitalized with Covid has also grown by a third since last week and is now at 463. Eighty-six of them are in a serious condition. The country has seen a sharp rise in Covid cases in the course of the past week with Friday’s 1,789 cases reported as the highest number registered in a single day since the beginning of May.
The health authorities are urging people who are as yet unvaccinated to consider getting the vaccine.
Around six million Czechs are fully vaccinated at the present time.
