Covid-19 cases rising again

After two days of stagnation, the number of new Covid-19 cases are on the rise again, with 247 new cases registered on Wednesday. According to Health Ministry data, that was about 40 more than on the same day a week ago.

The reproduction number – the average number of people infected by one person with the virus – has slightly increased again to 1.0, while the seven-day incidence now stands at 12 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

The number of people hospitalised with coronavirus has also slightly increased to 67, with 14 of them in serious condition. Experts predict that with the start of the new school year, the spread of the virus will further accelerate.
