Antibody self-testing kit to appear on the market soon

A self-testing kit for Covid-19 has been approved by the State Institute for Drug Control and will soon be available on the market, the ctk news agency reported citing the institute’s director Irena Storová.

The anti-body test, based on a drop of blood, similar to sugar-level tests for diabetics, is not suitable for testing in the early stages of infection. However people will be able to see if they have already undergone Covid and have antibodies.

Storová said she expects more tests suitable for home testing will appear on the market in the coming weeks and months.
