Association of Czech Ski Resorts calling for government aid

The Association of Czech Ski Resorts has said government’s refusal to allow them to reopen is a political decision rather than a professional one.

The association says that in view of the losses sustained the government should make it clear how it plans to save a sector which employs tens of thousands of people.

The government announced on Thursday evening that starting Saturday only people on work trips will be allowed to stay at accommodation facilities; they must produce a letter from their employer confirming they are on a work trip and are not allowed to bring family members with them.

Chair lifts will not be permitted to operate in ski centres.
