Covid-19 risk remain at highest level, number of cases drops slightly
Some 14,780 new cases of Covid-19 were detected in the Czech Republic on Wednesday, according to Health Ministry data. This is around 2,900 fewer than on Wednesday, which saw a record number of new cases for a single day.
There are now nearly 140,000 known active cases of the virus in the country. Some 7,300 people are in hospital with Covid-19, with around 1,100 of them in a critical condition.
The latest figure for total coronavirus deaths in the Czech Republic is 12,800. The government’s PES risk index remains at the highest, fifth level, at 86 points out out 100.
