Nationwide tests of physical fitness among schoolchildren being prepared
The Czech School Inspectorate is launching nationwide tests of physical fitness among schoolchildren and adolescents. The project aims to ascertain the level of physical fitness among schoolchildren and to provide schools with feedback and recommendations on physical activities. According to the inspectorate, children's physical fitness levels have declined both in strength and endurance and the isolation during the Covid pandemic has only exacerbated the problem. The tests of agility, speed, balance, and coordination, will provide a comparison with data from 30 years ago and with international research. The inspectorate plans to publish the results early next year.
