Monday sees lowest working day rise in coronavirus cases for a month

There were 5,406 new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus in the Czech Republic on Monday, Ministry of Health data shows.. That is 642 new cases fewer than on Monday the previous week and the lowest amount for any working day for the past month. However, it is a rise compared to the weekend period, when the number of tests is lower than during working days.

Currently, 117,858 people are infected with the virus, of which 6,592 are hospitalised. The number deaths from coronavirus rose by 85 on Monday to a total of 6,416 since the virus was first registered in the country in March.
