Minister: Covid vaccine to be without payment for whole population
Covid-19 vaccines in the Czech Republic will be covered patients’ health insurance schemes and should mainly be administered by GPs, the minister of health, Jan Blatný, told Czech Television. Under a previous plan the vaccines would only have been received without payment by selected population groups.
Mr. Blatný said Covid-19 would only disappear if a sufficient percentage of the population were inoculated, with the desired figure being 70 percent.
Vaccinations should begin in the first few months of 2021, the minister said. The state is planning an advertising campaign to encourage people to get vaccinated.
